REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The meeting is less than three weeks away and we are extremely pleased to announce that this year is shaping up to be our largest gathering in the history of ASHP's Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition. Currently, there are more pharmacy professionals registered than ever before. You are going to be part of history!

VENETIAN AND PALAZZO IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Daily Resort Fee
On October 1, 2009, The Venetian and Palazzo implemented a $15.00 (plus tax) daily resort fee in addition to the daily guest room rate. The resort fee includes local and toll free calls, unlimited in-suite internet access, daily local newspaper and access to the Canyon Ranch fitness center.

This resort fee is optional ONLY for ASHP attendees who booked their guestroom through ASHP's official housing company, The Housing Connection. The per night resort fee is mandatory for and will be collected at check-in from all attendees who did not reserve their guestroom through ASHP's official housing company, The Housing Connection.

Make your hotel reservations with The Housing Connection to avoid this resort fee and take advantage of the special rates available to registered ASHP meeting attendees!

Palazzo Location
Did your acknowledgement notice from The Housing Connection indicate your Hotel Reservation was at The Palazzo? If so, The Palazzo is part of the Venetian Hotel, but is located at 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South, The Palazzo has a separate and unique arrival experience. Have no worries, attendees who mistakenly arrive at the Venetian Registration for their Palazzo Reservation may check in, receive keys and will be directed to the Palazzo.

RESIDENCY SHOWCASE LISTING
The Residency Showcase listing is not published in the AJHP meeting issue or the onsite Program Book. The listing is available online along with the interactive floor plan. A handout of the listing will be provided onsite.

FEATURED SYMPOSIA
Take advantage of the featured symposia being conducted by participating Exhibitors. Click on any featured symposia session title and find out additional information about the registration, course description, program goals, and learning objectives. Register soon, as sessions will fill quickly!

ASHP SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
Shuttle buses will provide transportation, Sunday through Thursday, to and from the Venetian Conference Center, Sands Expo Center, and all official ASHP Midyear hotels (except for the Wynn). Shuttle bus service will be available for the Wednesday Evening Concert, featuring The Bacon Brothers! Check out the complete shuttle bus schedule.

Please Note: ASHP does not provide transportation to evening symposia and social events supported by the pharmaceutical industry, universities, and other organizations. The ASHP shuttle bus system supports ASHP offical Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition events and is subject to change. ASHP AND THE COMMUNITY
ASHP Theme Center
Stop by the ASHP Theme Center, located in the Exhibit Hall, to learn about all of ASHP's efforts to make our meetings more earth friendly and sustainable. Discover some unique pointers for "greening" your life and share any tips that you use at home or at work. Light refreshments will be served, so come grab a bite to eat, take a break, relax, and catch up on current events with our live CNN broadcast daily.
We encourage you to do your part in reducing waste by filling up your biodegradable water bottles (included in your meeting program bags distributed at registration) at any of the water stations throughout the building. We recommend cleaning your water bottles before first use.

ASHP & Teacher EXCHANGE™
ASHP exhibiting companies are getting involved with ASHP’s earth friendly and sustainable efforts!

 
ASHP is partnering with Teacher EXCHANGE™ (A Green Initiative of the Public Education Foundation) to help improve resource management and reduce the amount of solid waste generated in Southern Nevada. Following the close of the Exhibition, exhibitors will have the opportunity to donate new and reusable materials to public schools in Nevada.

National health observances like National Poison Prevention Week, National Hospital Week, and National Hospital & Health-System Pharmacy Week provide opportunities to educate your patients and peers about pharmacists important patient care role. Stop by the ASHP Press Room to get tips and tools for using these events to raise your visibility in your practice setting and receive a free copy of a patient education DVD.

2009 ASHP Best Practices Award Winners and Reception
Sunday, December 6, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Venetian Conference Center, Palazzo L (Level 5)

Please join us in congratulating the 2009 ASHP Best Practices Award Winners during a special poster reception at the Midyear. This national award program is recognizing six health systems as outstanding leaders in health-system pharmacy who have successfully implemented innovative systems that improved the quality of patient care and demonstrated best practices in health-system pharmacy. Check out the list of this year's award winners and learn about the innovative systems implemented at their health care facilities.

ASHP Foundation's Annual Donor Match Reception
Sunday, December 6, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Venetian Conference Center, Room 3601 (Toscana, Level 3)

You are invited to enjoy hors d'oeuvres with fellow donors, spend quality time with leaders in our profession (including ASHP Foundation-funded grantees and award winners), and make a gift donation to the ASHP Foundation that will be matched by a sponsor! PAC Breakfast: A Behind the Scenes Look at Guiding Political Change

Join ASHP's Political Action Committee for breakfast and learn how pharmacists can get involved in advocacy efforts and work to put pharmacy issues at the forefront of the political agenda. The minimum contribution to attend is $100 for practitioners, $50 for new practitioners, and $25 for students.
