Accreditation for Pharmacists
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The program provides 1 hour (0.10 CEU) of continuing education credit (program number 204-000-07-403-H01P).
Methods and Format
This is an online activity consisting of audio, slides, a post-test, and an activity evaluation tool. Participants must view the entire presentation, take the activity post-test, and complete the course evaluation to receive continuing education credit. A minimum score of 70% is required on the test for credit to be awarded, and participants may print their official statements of continuing education credit immediately. The estimated time to complete this activity is 1 hour. This activity is provided free of charge.
Target Audience
This introductory continuing education activity was planned to meet the needs of practitioners, scientists, educators, administrators, and others committed to excellence in clinical pharmacy and patient pharmacotherapy. The program is beneficial for those who treat, instruct, or otherwise participate in the care of patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Learning Objectives
After participating in this knowledge-based educational activity, participants should be able to
- Describe the pathophysiology of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
- Differentiate between non-ST-segment elevation (NSTE) ACS and ST-segment elevation (STE) ACS.
- Describe the mechanism of action of anticoagulants in ACS therapy.
- List common adverse effects and monitoring needs of anticoagulant ACS therapy.
- Review initial clinical evidence of anticoagulants used in the management of ACS.
