Marc W. Harrold, PhDMarc W. Harrold, PhD, is Associate Editor, Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning and Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at Duquesne University, School of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Harrold has taught a total of 26 different courses over the past 25 years, all involving medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, or teaching rotations. He has introduced a variety of innovations into his courses, including a series of 34 interactive web-based tutorials for students, many of which have been published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (AJPE), presented at American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) annual meetings, and have been used and/or adopted by other medicinal chemistry faculty across the country. Dr. Harrold has also been involved in curriculum development at Duquesne University and currently serves on the school’s curriculum committee. Dr. Harrold has published a total of 12 articles and 23 book chapters (either alone or as a co-author) in the area of medicinal chemistry education. Additionally, he has contributed to a medicinal chemistry case study workbook and has been a contributor to Nurse’s Drug Guide for the past seven years, has served as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, and currently serves as an Associate Editor for Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning. Dr. Harrold has received 21 teaching awards from the students within the Mylan School of Pharmacy and by Duquesne University and two national Advisor of the Year awards from APhA Academy of Students of Pharmacy and Rho Chi. |
