Lawrence A. Trissel, B.S. Pharm., FASHPLawrence Trissel is is Research Consultant at TriPharma Research in North Carolina. He began his career with a hospital pharmacy residency in the U.S. Public Health Service. He continued in various positions at the National Institutes of Health, FDA, and National Cancer Institute (NCI) over the next 20 years. At the NCI, he was part of a team that developed more than 100 investigational anticancer drugs for clinical trial. He aslo served as the Director of Clinical Pharmaceutics Research., at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Division of Pharmacy. In addition to writing the Handbook on Injectable Drugs he is the author of the Pocket Guide to Injectable Drugs, Trissel's Stability of Compounded Formulations, Trissel's Tables of Physical Compatibility, Trissel's Calcium and Phosphate Compatibility in Parenteral Nutrition, and over 170 published research papers. Mr. Trissel has served as a consultant to several pharmaceutical companies and the FDA on sterile drug product design, formulation and clinical use and served on the Pharmacy Professional Advisory Committee to the Surgeon General of the United States. He currently serves on the USP Expert Committees on sterile and non-sterile preparations as well as on advisory committees to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. |
